A/N: Straightforward fluff, for once! I wrote this as an attempt to cheer myself up and, as ever, with Ten in my head – but it will work equally well with Nine, if that’s what you prefer. There may well be more of this later.
Summary: It’s a gradual thing.

It happens slowly, when it does. There is no particular point where they stop just being friends and start being more; it’s a gradual thing.

Each finds they grow closer to the other as time passes; each narrow escape, each brush with death, binds one to the other in ways nobody else understands - and, after a while, they stop trying to explain.

Little by little, they become inseparable; and it happens almost without either noticing.

They’re a couple in every way long before either acknowledges the fact, and from that point their becoming lovers is a mere matter of time.
