This is the first piece I’ve actually wanted to write for a while, and the inspiration for it was “what was the Doctor’s last thought when the regeneration kicked in?”

I am glad that it had the desired effect, as well – because whether he regenerates or not that scene at the end of 4X12 is just full of angst, isn’t it?
