Summary: For some to live their destiny, others must be left behind.

Every time Jackie looks at the Doctor’s double, there’s a bittersweet feeling attached. He’s a living reminder of the day that the original realised how he could live his life rather than merely exist within it.

He reminds her of the day her daughter chose to be true to herself, refusing to let him dictate how and with whom she should be. He reminds her of the day she helped save the universe, knowing that at the same time her world would change for ever.

But he reminds her above all of the day she chose to let her daughter go.
