Author's Note: AU for Doomsday; fits in the A Storm Is Coming ’verse, but also stands alone.
Summary: She’s quieter than he’s ever known her to be, and it frightens him.

She sits there, silent and unmoving, and he’s so frightened for her that it practically consumes him. It’s his fault, as usual; it’s all his fault, and although there was nothing he could do to prevent it that fact does nothing to remove the guilt he feels.

She’s here, and right now little else matters; the Last of the Time Lords has his universe defined by this mere slip of a girl and he sees no cause to change it. If she comes through this in one piece, sane and relatively happy, it’s good enough for him.

It’s more than enough.
