Summary: He grieves her like a lost, beloved wife.
He grieves her like a lost, beloved wife.
Can barely bring himself to say her name,
But says he hopes she has a brilliant life
(And yet without her he can’t have the same.)
He seems to almost have a sense of shame
For how the two of them were torn apart.
And guilt for it has caused him naught but pain;
The memory lies heavy on his heart.
And so he’s never had the chance to heal,
To hold her in his memory but move on.
It’s as if he won’t let himself feel;
Can’t get past the fact that she is gone.
She’s gone, but she’s still here. She’s like a ghost.
And that, I think, is what hurts him the most.

I'm ever so in love with the way that you end your fantastic sonnets - I know I say this every time but it doesn't make it any less true! :) They pack a punch and this one was most certainly felt.
And for me, as well? Awww, thank you! ♥ I'm going to add this and all the sonnets in this 'verse into my memories now - makes it much easier to find!
Thank you once again and a huge hug coming your way!

I know I have said this before but you capture his pain so well :(
I channel a lot into these things so I’m glad it comes off.

Good job capturing the pain and lack of closure.
Thanks.
(I’m fully expecting this season to break my heart. I just hope that if it does it gives that sense of closure that Doomsday just didn’t, y’know?
