Whatever happens. Whatever
what is is is what
I want. Only that. But that.
He makes his decision (well he thinks he does, which is not quite the same thing) within seconds of setting eyes on his clone (and why hadn’t he got rid of that bloody hand of his earlier? Why?)
He decides that he doesn’t care what happens (except he does), he’ll find a way to deal with the situation (drop his clone back in the parallel world when he returns Jackie, perhaps; after all he’s done for them the least they can do is look after him).
It’ll work, he tells himself. It has to — he can’t lose her.
Not again.

That’s what I’ve started doing, since Journey’s End; that ending was so horrible on so many levels that I just don’t want anything to do with it.
Sanity (mine) had something to do with the choice, too.

Isn’t it just?

Yeah ... *huggles Ten, poor deluded soul*
I can’t get my head around what made him do what he did. Davros has a hell of a lot to answer for, IMHO.

Always. I’ll not leave him unhappy.

Date: 2009-01-04 08:16 pm (UTC)The Doctor carries the guilt of the Time War in his hearts, and the heavy responsibility for always having to do the right thing and maintaining balance in the universe. He doesn't believe that he deserves either thanks or reward - in fact, he's much like Angel in that he hopes for penance and atonement in his attempts at doing the right thing. Davros manipulated all of that, the bastard.
I’ll not leave him unhappy.
That is a lesson that RTD would do well to learn.

Yes. And quickly, too.
