Title: Consider it a favour for a friend
Rating: U
Pairing: Ten/Rose
Spoilers: Through Doomsday
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to the BBC.
Summary: She needs to hear those three words from him, even if he doesn't mean them.
Notes: I sometimes don't think that Rose ever thought the Doctor truly loved her; this is an attempt at writing that scene at the beach in Doomsday from her POV, waiting for the Doctor just to say it, even if she's still unsure he truly means it.

Consider it a favour for a friend.
It's not as if a lie would trip too slowly from your tongue;
And it's in the best of causes. Honest.
I just need to hear it all, just once, from you.
Consider it a favour for a friend.
Remember how I held you, in a world of fire and pain;
Held you through your tears
Until you smiled.
Your name, your face
Are burnt upon my memory like a brand,
Unforgettable, unforgotten.
Consider it a favour for a friend.
Lie for me, just the once.
A line of music fit to soothe a savage breast,
To bear my troubled soul away, to give it rest.
Consider it a favour, for a friend.
