Summary: The stars are quiet tonight.

The stars are quiet tonight.

She sits near the sea, as she does every year, needing to remember. Because sometimes, “once upon a time” seems too far away.

The days without him are too cold and empty, but somehow the sound of the sea soothes her battered psyche.

As twilight falls she returns slowly to her room, the dream shattered for yet another year, and the encroaching darkness tries to steal her fragile hopes from her. The wind rustling in the tress whispers to her of regrets and might-have-beens.

And only the steadfastness of her love for him sustains her.
