He could remember the oddest things. Not always what he wanted to remember, either.
He could remember how it had felt when she had lied to him about their baby – he couldn’t for the life of him pin down how he knew, he just did – but he had forgotten exactly how her skin felt beneath his fingers.
And each memory of his relationship with Rose started to slip from him, no matter how much he wanted to hold on to what little he had left; as each memory lost its sharpness he was crueller and crueller to Martha.

I love your icon :D
Bad Doctor.
Yes. But it’s not a conscious thing, or at least I don’t think it is.
But... poor sad Doctor.
My point exactly.

Oh Doctor.
Yup. *pets him*
There're several things I didn't like about Martha, but she did get quite a bum deal in her tenure as companion.
She got a horribly raw deal, didn’t she? The further from Season Three I get the less I dislike her, though, which is odd.

Ohhhh this is so sad, and says so much about his attitude towards poor Martha
I think there probably was something like this going on his head when he was being particularly obtuse about what Martha obviously thought of him. It’s the most charitable explanation for his behaviour I can think of.

Oh most definitely

I really need to stop reading angsty stories right before I go to bed. Does not help the mind shut done.
Yeah, I know the feeling (ponders whether that’s the reason I find it so difficult to sleep sometimes).
Lovely and sad.
Thank you!
